The New Avengers Vol. 1: Secret Invasion is a comic book storyline published by Marvel Comics that ran through the New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, and Avengers: The Initiative titles from June to December 2008. Plot

The story begins with the New Avengers investigating the murder of a Skrull sleeper agent. The team soon discovers that the Skrulls have been infiltrating Earth for years, and have replaced many high-ranking officials in government, the military, and even the superhero community.

The New Avengers team must race against time to stop the Skrulls from conquering Earth. They are aided by a group of former Avengers who have been hiding out since the events of the "Civil War" storyline.

The story culminates in a massive battle between the New Avengers and the Skrull army. The New Avengers are victorious, but the Skrulls manage to escape Earth.
